These are the terms for using Nib, the time tracker at getnib.app and track.getnib.app, and the Nib iOS app. Using Nib means you accept them. They're written to be read, not to be survived.

The service

Nib is currently free to use. If a paid plan arrives later, existing accounts will be told well before anything changes, and nothing you've already tracked gets held hostage behind a paywall.

Nib is in active development. Features will change. The iOS app is in beta and behaves like it.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself, and for what happens under your account. One account is meant for one person. Don't use Nib for anything illegal, don't attack the service, and don't try to reach other people's data.

Your data is yours

Everything you put into Nib — clients, entries, invoices, documents — belongs to you. I claim no ownership of it and no licence to use it beyond what's needed to run the service for you. You can export your invoices as PDFs and your reports as CSV at any time, and you can delete your account whenever you like. See the privacy policy.

The numbers are yours too

Nib rounds your time according to the policy you configure, and shows you both the actual and the billed number every time it does. That transparency is the whole point of the app. But the invoice you send is your invoice: you are responsible for checking it before it goes to a client, and for the tax treatment of what you bill. Nib is a tool, not your accountant.

Availability

I'll work to keep Nib running and your data safe and backed up, but this is a small service, not a bank. It's provided "as is", without warranty. To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect damages arising from using it — and any liability that does stick is limited to what you've paid for Nib, which at the moment is nothing.

Keep your own copies of anything you'd be sorry to lose. That's just good practice.

Ending it

You can stop using Nib and delete your account at any time, for any reason. I can suspend an account that's breaking these terms or endangering the service — and if that ever happens, you'll be told why.

Changes

These terms may change as Nib grows. Material changes get an email and a new date at the top of this page.
